S Alam Group's contribution in healthcare through CSR

A business is not only formed to generate profit but also has some social responsibilities to fulfill. Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, companies continue to contribute through cooperation in different sectors. S Alam Group, one of the leading industrial conglomerates in the country, has been giving importance to CSR activities since its inception.

As part of their effort, the company is playing a vital role in the country's healthcare sector.

Moreover, their effort was reinforced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

During that time, S. Alam Group implemented various aid activities by spending more than crores.

As a developing country, Bangladesh had to face many challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic.

At that time, state-of-the-art medical equipment, including ICU ventilators, were required in public and private hospitals. S Alam Group came forward during that time to support these institutions.

The company arranged 16 ICUs with ventilators to save the lives of the Covid-19 patients in six hospitals in the country.

Eight high-flow nasal cannula (Oxygen) and adequate protective equipment was also provided by the conglomerate.

Besides, hi-flow nasal cannula, a device to deliver high levels of oxygen, and oxygen cylinders with other accessories were provided by the S Alam Group in Bogura and Sylhet.   

The conglomerate has played a sensible role in protecting not only patients but also doctors.

They have provided 500 PPEs and two air conditioners for the doctors' duty room, along with establishing two sample collection booths at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

It helped to reduce the risk of contamination while the doctors at CMCH provided medical services to the patients.

Besides, monetary support for the refreshment of the quarantined doctors, one air conditioner, and two sample collection booths for Chattogram General Hospital; one air conditioner for the doctor's duty room, and two sample collection booths for Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID); and more than 98 thousand PPEs for 14 Upazila Health Complex in Chattogram were provided.

In addition to the initiatives taken during the pandemic, S. Alam Group is also consistently contributing  to the healthcare sector of the country.

A hospital is being constructed under the company's supervision in Chattogram.

The construction of the hospital is almost completed.

The main objective of the hospital will be to provide free medical services to underprivileged people and making healthcare more accessible to everyone's doorstep.

Moreover, S Alam's Group management has vast experience in managing hospitals under financial institutions across the country. 

S Alam Group has consistently undertaken various impactful initiatives in education, health, disaster management, environmental protection, and human rights protection in the past and continues to do so.

The conglomerate regularly supports and donates to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund during national calamities.

Recently, they have stood beside the flood victims in Chattogram by delivering emergency relief assistance to 15,000 families.

This is how one of the leading business conglomerates in the country is fulfilling its social responsibilities by taking a leading position in various disaster mitigation initiatives.
