Nestlé inaugurates Infant Formula Processing Plan in Gazipur

Nestlé Bangladesh set up 'Infant Formula Processing, Filling & Packaging Plant' in Sreepur of Gazipur.

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the plant on Wednesday virtually, reads a press release.

With the vision of unlocking the power of food for everyone, Nestlé Bangladesh Limited has started the operation of its state-of-art 'Infant Formula Processing, Filling & Packaging Plant,' the press statement added.

This state of art plant as a part of adding the latest technology and innovation has been introduced to produce high-quality Infant formula products in Bangladesh. Globally, Infant Formula products are the result of the latest advancement of science and research in Nestlé R&D world, and only 34 factories in the world have this kind of plant. Nestlé Bangladesh proudly joins this prestigious league with this plant in Bangladesh.      

Minister Nurul Majid is quoted saying, "I'm happy to know that Nestlé Bangladesh is going to inaugurate 'Infant formula Processing, Filling and Packaging Plant' at its Sreepur factory, Gazipur. When I visited Nestlé S.A HQ, Konolfingan factory and Nestlé Research Centre in Switzerland in October 2019, I had discussion with Nestlé leadership team at Vevey regarding investments in Bangladesh setting-up their world class factory. This is a matter of satisfaction to me that Nestlé has kept their commitment." 

Deepal Abeywickrema, managing director of Nestlé Bangladesh, conveyed heartfelt thanks to the relevant stakeholders of government for their enormous support in every step of the entire process from construction to operations of the 'Infant Formula Processing, Filling & Packaging Plant'. 

Amongst many other dignitaries attended, Md Sirazul Islam Khan, executive chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Suresh Narayanan, market head of Nestlé South Asia Region, Arshad Chaudhry, Nutrition Business Head of Nestlé Zone Asia-Oceania-Africa, Stefan Bernhard, regional manager of Nestlé Zone Asia-Oceania-Africa, Christian Schmid, Head of Technical of Nestlé Zone AOA to be mentioned.
