Janata Bank launches digital payment platform ‘Janata Pay’
Janata Bank has launched its new digital payment platform, Janata Pay.
Financial Institutions Division Secretary Nazma Mobarek formally inaugurated the service virtually on 12 April as chief guest.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Chairman of Janata Bank Muh Fazlur Rahman. Special guests included Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank Debdulal Roy, Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division and Chief Innovation Officer Farida Yasmin, and Managing Director of the bank Md Mujibur Rahman.
Among others present at the ceremony were Deputy Managing Directors of Janata Bank Kazi Abdur Rahman and Md Faiz Alam, General Manager of the ICT Division Mohammad Anis, general managers and deputy general managers at the head office, as well as heads of all offices and branches of the bank, who joined virtually.
Through Janata Pay, customers will be able to make payments quickly, securely and conveniently through mobile wallets, bank cards and internet banking.
The platform will allow users to pay different bills and access services from home, helping save both time and cost.
Janata Bank said the platform would also offer an effective solution for institutions by enabling easier payment collection and transaction management.
At the same time, Janata Pay is expected to play an important role in expanding cashless transactions, promoting financial inclusion and supporting green banking in the country.
Through the platform, online payment collection and disbursement will be possible across the government, private and e-commerce sectors.
