Industrialist Matiur Rahman elected BTMA director

Leading entrepreneur Matiur Rahman, chairman and managing director of Uttara Group of Companies, has been elected director uncontested of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) for the terms 2023-24 and 2024-25, reads a press release.

Matiur Rahman is actively involved in various social activities alongside his business endeavors. He is the president of the Bangladesh Motorcycle Assemblers & Manufacturers Association (BMAMA). Additionally, he was both the director and vice president of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce.

Matiur Rahman served successfully as the president of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry in consecutive years 2002 and 2003. He was also the founding president of the Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries and served the association from 2004 to 2006.

His contributions to enhancing economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan earned him recognition from the Japanese government, who honored him with the "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette" award.
