Grand opening of ICSB Chattogram Office

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) has taken a significant step by opening its Chattogram Branch and organising an orientation programme for the 1st Batch of Chartered Secretary (CS) Course for the students of Chattogram.

This event, held on Saturday, 21 September 2024, at Golden Plaza, 1692 CDA Avenue, East Nasirabad, Chattogram-4225, was a momentous occasion attended by a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, members, and students. Your presence marked a significant milestone in ICSB's expansion efforts, underscoring the importance of your role in our mission. 
    

Mr. Md. Delowar Hossain FCS, Chairman of the Chattogram Regional Chapter Sub Committee of ICSB, moderated the programme. He appraised the Council for vigorously taking the initiative to establish the long-cherished Chattogram Branch and thanked the Members of the Chattogram Regional Chapter Sub Committee for their relentless effort. 
In the opening remarks, Mr. Md Zakir Hossain, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, welcomed the newly admitted students of Chattogram and mentioned it as a historical day for ICSB. 
Mr A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman FCS, Vice President; Mr Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, Treasurer; Mr Salim Ahmed FCS, Council Member; Mr Oli Kamal FCS, Council Member; Mr Md. Sharif Hasan FCS, Council Member; Mr Mohammed Harun-Ar-Rashid FCS, Council Member, Mr Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat FCS, Council Member and Mr Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan FCS, Council Member, Md. Abul Kalam Azad, ACS, Member, and CRC were present and spoke during the programme. They also mentioned the importance and insights of the Chartered Secretary profession. Stating the profession as a unique stream, they appreciated students making the right decisions.  
Dr. Sayed Manzur Kader, Dean, Business School of Chittagong Independent University, Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Assistant Professor, and Ms. Fahmida Akhter, Assistant Professor, School of Business Administration of East Delta University, Professor Utpal Chandra Shil, Head of Accounting Department, Professor Md. Amirul Anwar Chowdhury, Head of Management Department, Mr. Shawrabh Kumar Barua, Associate Professor, Accounting Department of Govt. City College, Chattogram, and Dr. Mohammad Tauhidur Rahman, Head, Department of Finance & Banking, Mr. Mohammad Hashem, Head, Department of Accounting, Mr. Mohammad Jahangir, Assistant Professor, Accounting Department of Government College of Commerce, Chattogram, and Mr. Md. Rakibul Islam Mayshan FCMA, Assistant Professor, Department of Accounting, University of Chittagong, and Secretary, Chattogram Branch Council of ICMAB  , were present in the programme. They expressed their gratitude to ICSB for the invitation and commended the Institute's efforts in promoting corporate governance and professional development.  They also extended their best wishes and mentioned that this new branch would be helpful for the stakeholders of ICSB. We are deeply grateful for your support and look forward to your continued involvement in our mission. 
Mr Md. Riajul Hoque Sikder FCS, Member, Mr Rajib Saha FCS, Member, Mr A. M. M. Myeen Uddin Mazumder ACS, Chattogram Regional Chapter Sub Committee and Mr Md. Shamibur Rahman FCS, Executive Director (F&A) of ICSB and other Members who were present physically and virtually during the programme. 
Mr. M Nurul Alam FCS, Senior Vice President of ICSB, highlighted the potential of the CS profession and course curriculum. He also said that the CS profession is challenging and rewarding and urged the admitted students to strive for academic excellence. 
Mr. Mohammad Asad Ullah FCS, President of ICSB, emphasised that establishing the ICSB Chattogram Branch is a unique opportunity for all of us. It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to fostering corporate governance excellence across Bangladesh. This new branch will serve as a vital resource for both current professionals and students, offering a wealth of opportunities for growth and learning. Finally, he officially opened the new branch at Chattogram and inaugurated the 1st Batch of Chattogram, which is the 54th Batch of CS Course, extending his warm greetings to all the Members, students, and relevant stakeholders.
