GMHL announces major real estate, hospitality projects
GM Holdings Limited (GMHL), a concern of Deshbandhu Group, has announced an expansion plan involving real estate, hospitality, tourism and industrial development projects across Bangladesh.
The projects will be developed on strategically located land owned by the company, GMHL said in a press release.
As part of the plan, GMHL has signed agreements with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) for five projects.
The company said the collaboration will bring international expertise and global best practices to the planning and development of its upcoming projects.
The planned developments include "Dakhina", a condominium project in Dakshinkhan, Dhaka; a boutique hotel on Road 27 (Old) in Dhanmondi, at the site of Rapa Plaza; a proposed five-star resort on 14 acres of land in Uttarkhan, Dhaka; a proposed five-star hotel and shopping mall project in Bogura; and an amusement park in Rangpur.
GMHL is also advancing plans to establish an industrial park in Sirajganj to support industrial growth and employment generation.
The Bogura hospitality project has received a Letter of Intent from Hilton for the proposed hotel development, the company said.
The residential project "Dakhina" in Dakshinkhan will be implemented under an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) arrangement with Sinohydro Corporation Limited.
The EPC agreement has already been signed, GMHL said.
The company said it aims to develop projects that contribute to Bangladesh's urban transformation, tourism growth, investment attraction and long-term economic development through strategic partnerships with international organisations.
