Global android conference ‘droidcon’ returns to Dhaka
The world-renowned Android developer conference, 'droidcon,' is set to return to Bangladesh after an eight-year hiatus.
The two-day event will take place on June 20 and 21, 2025, at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in Dhaka.
Dubbed the country's largest Android developer gathering, 'droidcon Bangladesh 2025' will welcome over 500 participants, featuring 19 international speakers and more than 20 technical sessions that cover the latest developments in mobile technology.
The event will begin on Friday, June 20, with an opening ceremony, followed by 10 sessions focused on Kotlin, Flutter, clean architecture, user interface design, and real-world developer experiences. Day two will feature 9 additional sessions, highlighting Android security, AI in mobile testing, Kotlin Multiplatform, and engineering leadership.

In addition to keynote speeches and lightning talks, the conference will include a guest panel, quiz results, a raffle draw, and a closing ceremony. Each day will conclude with networking sessions and community gatherings.
Topics will span Android and Kotlin development, cross-platform tools, user experience, accessibility, software architecture, AI-powered debugging and testing, and leadership in the tech industry.
The last edition of Droidcon in Bangladesh was held in Dhaka in 2017, drawing over 300 developers. The 2025 edition signals a significant comeback, placing Dhaka once again among global droidcon hosts such as Berlin, London, San Francisco and Nairobi.
Speakers will represent top tech firms, including JetBrains, NativeWaves, Wolt, Brain Station 23, Cheq, Pathao and Zelf.
The event is organised by Sunnat629 Dev, with co-organisation support from TechAByte Solutions. Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), IEEE Bangladesh Section and IUB's Department of Computer Science and Engineering are co-hosts. Dynamic Solution Innovators Ltd is the main sponsor, with Brain Station 23 and Cheq as gold sponsors. BDApps, JetBrains and Agile Bangladesh are community partners.
