BRAC University Law Alumni Association elects new executive committee
The newly elected executive committee of the Law Alumni Association of Brac University has formally taken charge for the 2026–2028 term, with Meher Nigar as president and Tafsir Ahammed Khan as general secretary.
The 19-member committee will lead the association's activities for the next two years.
The handover and election programme was held at the Brac University Alumni Lounge, where general members of the association and current students of the School of Law attended as observers.
At the beginning of the programme, advisers to the Law Alumni Association of Brac University delivered welcome remarks and called for stronger alumni networking, professional cooperation and engagement with future generations of law graduates.
Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Shah Maksud Noor conducted the election proceedings, addressed the members present and formally announced the names of the elected representatives.
According to the election results, Meher Nigar was elected president, Tafsir Ahammed Khan general secretary, Iasir Md Adnan vice-president, Ali Arman Khan Apon joint general secretary, and Tahmid Bin Rahman treasurer.
The elected secretaries are Tarannuma Rahman Lira, Supreme Court secretary; Irfan Bashir Porag, Judge Court secretary; Mohammad Abdul Mahir, organising secretary; Ramida Anjum Ruji, communication secretary; Rayhan Ahmed, academic and publication secretary; Sheikh Rashiful Islam, sports and culture secretary; and Mehrab Hossain Ifti, social welfare secretary.
The executive members are Md Asif Reza, Tanzin Habib Kotha, Priyangshu Pal Chowdhury, Nafis Al Sadik, Shounak Sayanthan Kingshuk, Rafa Anan Ferdous and Md Khaled Tanim.
After the announcement of the results, the newly elected president and general secretary expressed gratitude to the members and pledged to make the association more dynamic, effective and forward-looking.
They also thanked the previous executive committee for its contribution and continued efforts, expressing hope that its experience and cooperation would remain available in the association's future activities.
