Budget deficit to be 5.5% of GDP this year

The budget deficit will cross 5 percent of GDP for the first time in many years.

The deficit has gone up to Tk153,513 crore, which 5.5 percent of GDP for outgoing fiscal year.

The government has received nearly Tk12,000 crore less from foreign sources that its original target set in the budget.
