BSEC Commissioner Nizami awarded CGIA Fellowship
He received the fellowship for his contributions in the field of finance and investment
The Chartered Global Investment Analyst (CGIA) Institute has awarded a fellowship to Prof Md Helal Uddin Nizami, a Commissioner of the Bangladesh Securities & Exchange Commission (BSEC).
He received the Fellowship from the Institute because of his outstanding contributions in the field of finance and investment.
The CGIA Institute is a global body of finance and investment professionals who have set global standards for ethical investment practices in the finance and investment management industry.
The Institute, headquartered in New York, US, provides the Chartered Global Investment Analyst designation to its fellows.
Prof Nizami currently represents BSEC as a member of the advisory group of the Asia Pacific Economic Corporation - Financial Regulators Training Initiative (APEC - FRTI), as well as serving as a member of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC).
He has also served as Director for the Bangladesh Institute of Capital Market (BICM) since 2018.
Prior to joining BSEC, he was a Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, University of Chittagong.
He told the media that he intends to play a pivotal role in the Institute's activities in Bangladesh's finance & investment management industry through the CGIA network.
