Both stock exchanges to get new managing directors
Kazi Sanaul Hoq is approved to join the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) as its managing director and Mamun-Ur-Rashid at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE)
Securities regulator has approved managing director appointment proposals from both the stock exchanges at its 715th commission meeting on Wednesday.
The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) said in a press release that Kazi Sanaul Hoq is approved to join the Dhaka Stock Exchange as its managing director and Mamun-Ur-Rashid at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).
Both are former bankers.
The DSE Board, on January 9, 2020 has approved the selection of its Nomination and Remuneration Committee to appoint Kazi Sanaul Hoq as the next managing director. On the other hand the CSE has sent Mamun-Ur-Rashid's name to the BSEC last week.
The DSE has been run under the executive leadership of an acting managing director since July, 2019 while the CSE has been run the same way since May last year.
Kazi Sanaul Hoq has been serving various state-owned banks and the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh as managing director and Mamun-Ur-Rashid mainly was the managing director of Standard Bank Ltd, a private sector commercial bank.
