UGC, Janata Bank sign MoU for government house building loan

Teachers, officers and employees of the UGC will get a house building loan under this agreement.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and Janata Bank Ltd on Sunday under the government's house building loan policy.

Teachers, officers and employees of the UGC will get the house building loan under this agreement.

They will get the house building loan from Tk20 lakh upto Tk75 lakh at five percent simple interest.

The government will pay the remaining four percent interest for a period of twenty years.

Dr Ferdous Zaman, secretary (current charge) of UGC, and Md Sazzad Hossain, manager of Janata Bank Ltd's UGC Bhaban Branch, signed the agreement at the UGC on behalf of their respective organisations.

Professor Dr Muhammed Alamgir, member of UGC, was present as chief guest, while Md Ismail Hossain, deputy managing director of Janata Bank Ltd, was present as special guest at the agreement signing ceremony.

Dr Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan, director strategic planning and quality assurance division,  Dr Shamsul Arefin, director of Public Relations and Right To Information Division, Md Kamal Hossain, director of Public University Management Divison, Dr Md Fakhrul Islam, director of Private University Division, Md Omar Faruque, directior (current charge) of Research Support and Publication Division, Md Shah Alam, director (additional charge) of Finance  and Accounts Division, UGC,  Md Murshedul Kabir, general manager and  Md Ruhul Kabir, assistant general manager, Janata Bank Ltd, among others, were present at the ceremony.
