With multiple banks already announcing pay-cut to minimise the cost and cope up with the damages caused by the coronavirus pandemic, United Commercial Bank (UCB) has decided to go against the flow.

UCB Chairman Rukhmila Zaman, in a letter on Thursday, told all employees to not pay heed to any rumour on pay-cut and assured them that UCB "will not cut-off salary of any employee".

Earlier, South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank also made a similar announcement where they said that they won't cut-off the salary or bonus of its employees.

However, AB Bank, City Bank, Exim Bank and Al-Arafah Islami Bank already announced pay-cut to minimise the cost amid coronavirus pandemic.
