Southeast Bank launches agent banking service — Shagotom

Southeast Bank Limited launched the operation of its agent banking wing – Shagotom – on the historic 7 March to provide banking services for the unbanked people in the country.  

The aim of the bank's agent banking wing is to uphold the trend of financial inclusion and spread banking services at every corner of the country, said a media statement issued on Sunday.

M Kamal Hossain, managing director of the bank formally announced the launch of Shagotom in Dhaka, Chottogram, Khulna, Jessore and Rangpur on the day. 

Zakir Ahmed Khan, advisor to the bank; Air Commodore (retd) Md Abu Bakar, managing director of Southeast Bank Capital Services Limited; Md Serajul islam, chief executive officer of ERA Infotech Ltd and other senior officials of the bank were present at the event. 

All kinds of modern and technology backed conventional services and the Islamic banking service Tijarah will be provided from the bank's agent banking outlets.
