Rupali Bank opens 579th branch in Nawabganj

Prime Minister's Adviser for Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman inaugurated the branch

The state-owned Rupali Bank limited launched its 579th branch at Sholla Bazar under Nawabganj upazila in Dhaka on Tuesday.

Prime Minister's Adviser for Private Industry and Investment, Salman F Rahman inaugurated the branch through videoconference, says a Rupali Bank press release.

In his speech, as chief guest he lauded the government banks for contributing in the development of the country's economy.

"Without government banks, the private sector could not have emerged. The private sector of the country has been established through government banks," he added.

Rupali Bank Chairman Monzur Hossain presided over the meeting while Managing Director Obayed Ullah Al Masud gave a welcome speech.

Deputy Managing Directors Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Khondoker Ataur Rahman and Mohammad Jahangir alongside General Managers Asok Kumar Singh Roy, Shofiqul Islam and Persoma Alam were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
