Rakub starts foundation training for new bankers

The Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (Rakub) started the foundation training for newly-recruited senior officers at its training institute on Wednesday.
Some 40 trainee bankers took part in the 30-day long training course.
Former Secretary Muhammad Nazrul Islam, chairman of the board of directors of the Rakub, inaugurated the training course.
Welcoming the new bankers, Nazrul Islam briefed them about the importance of the foundation course.
He urged the participants to enrich themselves with various rules, regulations and policies.
Calling upon them to take the banking profession as a challenging one, he underlined the necessity for professional development to become skilled professionals.
He expressed his optimism that the Rakub will be a model for other banks.
In his speech, Mohammad Idris, managing director of the bank, hoped that the trainees will be able to utilise their knowledge obtained from the training in banking activities, including loan sanction and recovery, collecting deposits, uplifting profits.
He emphasised improving the quality of service so that the farmers can avail of the service without any intervention by brokers.
Shubrata Kumar Sarkar, principal of Rakub training institute, presided over the programme.
Other high officials and members of the training institute were also present at the event.
