Open Sonali Bank account through mobile app
People taking different sorts of services under the government’s social safety net programme will be able to open their accounts in the first stage of this app services

The largest state owned Sonali Bank Limited has launched its first-ever smartphone based app, allowing people to open accounts with it.
The app has been titled as "Sonali eSheba". People will be able to open accounts with the bank from their convenient places round the clock.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the app though a videoconferencing on Wednesday afternoon at the Sonali Bank Head Office in Dhaka.
Sonali Bank Chairman Ziaul Hasan Siddiqui and Managing Director Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan also addressed on the occasion.
People taking different sorts of services under the government's social safety net programme will be able to open their accounts in the first stage of this app services.
Other services will be added gradually, according to the bank management.
Recently, private sector's Eastern Bank Limited inaugurated short e-KYC (Know Your Customer) services and allowed people to open accounts visiting any of its branches by providing national identity cards.
Sonali Bank emerged as the largest and leading Nationalised Commercial Bank by the proclamation of the Banks' Nationalisation Order 1972 by liquidating the then National Bank of Pakistan, Premier Bank and Bank of Bhwalpur.
The bank was converted to a public limited company with cent percent ownership of the government and started functioning as the Sonali Bank Limited from November 15, 2007, taking over all assets, liabilities and business of the Sonali Bank.
