Midland Bank gets new deputy managing director

Mr Md Zahid Hossain has been promoted to the rank of deputy managing director of Midland Bank Limited, assuming its role of chief risk officer and chief anti-money laundering and compliance officer.

Earlier he served the bank as senior executive vice president heading its corporate banking division.

Mr Hossain gained 24 years of hands-on and versatile banking experience with in-depth banking expertise in credit risk management covering areas of corporate finance, small and medium business, syndication and structured finance, and facility restructuring.

He completed his master's of commerce in finance securing first-class from Dhaka University. He completed his SSC and HSC from Mirzapur Cadet College.

Mr Hossain started his banking career in Eastern Bank Ltd. as 2nd batch probationary officer and subsequently served The City Bank Ltd. and Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. in different senior positions.  

He participated in a number of training programmes, seminars, and symposiums on banking and finance both at home and abroad.
