MDs of three state-owned banks reappointed

The Ministry of Finance has reappointed the managing directors (MD) of three state-owned commercial banks for the next three years.

The Bank and Financial Institution Division of the ministry confirmed the reappointment of the MDs on Tuesday.

The reappointed MDs are Obayed Ullah Al Masud, Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam and Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan. Obayed Ullah, previously working in Sonali Bank, appointed in Rupali Bank and Ataur Rahman, previously working in Rupali Bank, appointed in Sonali Bank. While Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam was reappointed in Agrani Bank where he used to work before.

All of them were appointed in the three state-owned banks on August 16, 2016.

The Economic Division of the Finance Ministry will now send letters to the boards of directors of the three banks, directing them to finalise the reappointment process with approval from Bangladesh Bank as per the Bank Company Act 1991.
