MBL launches Taqwa service in 15 branches

Mercantile Bank Limited (MBL) launched its Shariah-compliant Islamic banking window -- Taqwa -- in 15 more branches across the country. 

Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, the bank's managing director, virtually inaugurated the service as the chief guest on Monday. 

The 15 branches are Gulshan, Tejgaon-Gulshan Link Road, Elephant Road, Narayanganj, Cumilla, Khulna, Sylhet, Jubilee Road Branch in Chattogram, Chhagalnaiya Branch in Feni, and Hajigonj Branch in Chandpur.

The services have also been launched in Mercantile Bank's Suagoanj Branch in Cumilla, Dagonbhuiyan Branch in Feni, Maijdee Court Branch in Noakhali and Amishapara SME/Krishi Branch in Noakhali, and Rajnagar SME/Krishi Branch. 

Mati Ul Hasan, additional managing director of Mercantile Bank; GWM Mortaza, Md Zakir Hossain, Adil Raihan and Shamim Ahmed, deputy managing directors; Md Mizanur Rahman Sarker, head of islamic banking division, joined the event among others.
