Banks in commercial hubs of Dhaka, Chattogram to remain open till 2pm

However, bank employees have to stay at office till 3:30 pm

All the banks in the key commercial areas of both Dhaka and Chattogram will remain open from 10am to 2pm from Sunday.

The Bangladesh Bank on Thursday issued a circular in this regard, revising the previous instruction of carrying out banking operations on a limited scale.

The central bank has instructed all banks to keep open their branches in Motijheel and Dilkusha in Dhaka city, and Khatunganj and Agrabad in Chattogram city from 10am to 2pm, the circular reads.

However, bank employees in those branches and their head offices have to stay at office until 3:30 pm.

Banks had earlier been providing services on a limited scale from 10am to 1pm since the general holidays beganon March 29.
