ABTI organises workshop on 'International Trade Payment and Financing'

Agrani Bank recently organised a 10-day training workshop titled 'International Trade Payment and Financing' at the Agrani Bank Training Institute (ABTI), aiming to develop a workforce suitable for domestic trade.
Virtually addressing the closing ceremony of the ceremony as chief guest on 28 January, Dr Zaid Bakht, chairman of Agrani Bank pledged to modernize ABTI and make it more international, reads a press release on Sunday.
He said that training is absolutely critical in enhancing knowledge, skills, and abilities in human resource development.
The skills of the bank's foreign exchange officers will grow manifold through this training course, he added.
The workshop was inaugurated on 17 January by Mohammad Shams-ul Islam, managing director and CEO of Agrani bank.
Supravha Saeed, deputy general manager of the bank and director of ABTI presided over the workshop, while Md Akhtarul Alam, general manager, HRPDOD, and Bahare Alam, general manager of risk management division virtually addressed the launch event.
The session was conducted by Anisur Rahman, deputy managing director, along with senior executives of the bank and faculty members of ABTI.
53 trainees were trained on opening LCs in foreign trade, sending LCs using Swift, reviewing documents received against import debentures, lodgment and rearment, PC, LIM, LTR and export bills, purchase bills, etc.
