Abdus Samad re-elected AIBL chairman

The board of directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited (AIBL) has re-elected Alhajj Abdus Samad Labu as the chairman of the bank.

The board has also re-elected Alhajj Mohammed Abdus Salam as its vice chairman.

The decision came from the 351st meeting of board of directors of the bank, said a media statement issued on Wednesday.

Abdus Samad Labu is one of the founder directors of the bank. He is the vice chairman of S Alam Group, one of the largest industrial groups of the country.

He is the chairman of S Alam Cold Rolled Steels Ltd and the vice chairman of Ekushey Television (ETV), a leading satellite TV channel of the country.

On the other hand, Mr Abdus Samad is a great humanitarian involved in many social welfare and philanthropic activities. He is an executive member of Baitus Saraf Foundation and Chattogram Samity Dhaka.

Alhajj Mohammed Abdus Salam is a prominent businessman from Chattogram. He is the managing director of Mir Group, one of the largest business groups of Khatungonj, Chattogram.

He is the vice president of Chattogram Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries and founder of Southern University.

He is also a director of Marine City Medical College and Hospital.
