3 Agrani Bank officials suspended over swindling

Three Agrani Bank officials of Sreepur branch in Gazipur have been suspended for swindling money from customer accounts.

The branch manager, Abdul Halim, was removed to a Dhaka branch.

Confirming the incident, Shamim Ara Sultana Gani, deputy general manager, Gazipur zonal office of Agrani Bank Ltd, told the media, "Senior officials of the bank visited the Sreepur branch on information about irregularities as regards money deposited by customers and started an investigation by forming an audit team."

"We have taken all steps to ensure that the customers suffer no harm. We are trying to refund the customer's money," she added.

The suspended officials are the principal officer of the bank's Sreepur branch Md Nazrul Islam, Cash Officers Badrul Hasan Sony and Md Dolowar Hossain.
