Around 1 million people of 3.6 million Covid-affected families will receive the Prime Minister's cash aid through Brac Bank's bKash

The cash will be sent directly to their mobile banking accounts through the G2P system, said a press release.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday officially inaugurated the second phase of this financial aid program via video conferencing from Ganobhaban.

Marginalised people who have lost their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic are the beneficiaries of said cash aid.

Each family is receiving cash aid of 2,500 Taka under the humanitarian initiative.

The money is being disbursed through Mobile Finance Service (MFS) through verification of their NID cards.

In the inaugural function, the Prime Minister spoke to the beneficiaries connected through video conferencing from different districts.

The government will pay 15 Taka from the total Cash Out charge, while the remaining 31.25 Taka will be borne by bKash.
