FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim spoke in favour of including the private healthcare sector in the vaccination process
Bangladesh has kept the wheels of economy and development activities turning through public-private partnerships and mutual cooperation despite the onslaught of Covid-19 pandemic, business leader Sheikh Fazle Fahim said on Wednesday.
Fahim – who serves as the president of The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) – made the remark as a special guest of the discussion titled, "National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme: Involvement of Private Health Sector."
The FBCCI has been actively working to implement the $14.60 billion incentive package introduced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It has already implanted 77 incentive packages, Fahim said.
He also spoke in favour of including the private healthcare sector in the vaccination process, while addressing the event organised by the Bangladesh Private Medical College Association (BMPCA) at a city hotel.
"The FBCCI had issued a practical health advisory protocol to agriculture, industries, auxiliary logistics supports, commercial offices and other business sectors as part of an initiative to tackle the pandemic's impacts," he mentioned.
He then lauded the prime minister for speedy implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination initiative. Fahim then thanked Health Minister Zahid Maleque and State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Enamur Rahman for their skillful handling of the pandemic crisis.
BMPCA President MA Mubin Khan presided over the programme, while Zahid Maleque and Enamur Rahman attended as chief guest and special guest respectively. Many senior government officials also attended the programme.
