PM to inaugurate Biman's 2 new aircrafts on Sunday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will formally inaugurate the two new aircrafts – "Akash Tori" and "Shwetbalaka" on 14 March (Sunday). 

She will inaugurate the second and third Dash 8-400 aircrafts around 10.30am on at the VIP Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said a press release of Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Thursday. 

The first Dash-8 aircraft  purchased on a government-to-government basis from Canada, was added to the Biman's fleet on 27 December, 2020, while second one arrived in the country on 24 February and the third one on Friday (5 March). 

Prime Minister named the three aircrafts. 

The new 74-seat Dash 8-400 aircraft is built by De Havilland, a well-known Canadian aircraft manufacturer. It is equipped with eco-friendly and advanced facilities like HEPA filter technology, that completely purifies the air inside the aircraft in just four minutes.
