Bangladesh has no plan to suspend UK flights until ban comes from the government as many countries are banning flights from the UK to protect their citizens from the new variant of fast-spreading coronavirus.

"We are issuing boarding card based on Covid test report," said Md Mokabbir Hossain, managing director of Biman.

Currently, Biman operates two weekly flights in UK and one more flight will be added from next month, he said.

Recently, a growing number of countries including France, Germany, and Ireland, are banning flights from the UK to protect their citizens from the new variant of fast-spreading coronavirus.

Britain's health secretary Matt Hancock on Sunday admitted that the coronavirus is out of control, hours after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed a lockdown on London and southeast England, sparking fury by cancelling Christmas at short notice and some countries imposing flight bans.
