74 Squadron receives BAF Colour

The chief of air staff handed over the 'Bangladesh Air Force Colour' to 74 Squadron and took part in a special prayer for the preservation of Bangladesh Air Force Colour

Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, on Sunday awarded Bangladesh Air Force Colour to 74 Squadron of Zahurul Haque air base in Chattogram.

Zahurul Haque Air Base Captain, Air Vice Marshal A S M Fakhrul Islam, gave cordial reception to the air staff chief upon his arrival, read a press release.

During the colour award ceremony, the chief of air staff witnessed a parade commanded by 74 squadron Wing Commander Arshadul Islam Khan.

The chief of air staff handed over the 'Bangladesh Air Force Colour' to 74 Squadron and  took part in a special prayer for the preservation of Bangladesh Air Force Colour.

In his speech, the chief of air staff paid homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

Addressing the members of Bangladesh Air Force at all levels, he said that the nation will forever remember the courageous contribution of Bangladesh Air Force members in the Liberation War. 

He further mentioned that the radar deployed in the 74 Squadron of BAF has been playing an important role in the country's air defense by monitoring all aircraft and missiles flying under the radar range and providing early warning signals of enemy air attack.

Chief of air staff thanked all members of 74 Squadron for achieving prestigious 'Bangladesh Air Force Colour' and advised them to uphold the honour, dignity and pride of BAF Colour. 

Among others, principal staff officers and other members of Bangladesh Air Force were present on the occasion.
