The facility will be set up in Uttara's Diabari instead

The proposal to set up a quarantine centre on Biswa Ijtema ground has been cancelled.

''Quarantine facilities will be set up in Uttara's Diabari and Ashkona Hajj camp," Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, additional deputy police commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police told BSS.

"Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam visited the Ijtema ground on Thursday night and said that coronavirus patients would be kept in quarantine here," said the Tabligh Jamaat representative of Biswa Ijtema's fourth gate Chan Mia.

"But on Friday morning, we heard that the army will build the quarantine centre in Uttara's Diabari.''
