New Zealand reports 3 new cases of Covid-19

New Zealand reported three new case of Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the number of active cases in the country to 24, all in managed isolation or quarantine facilities, according to the Ministry of Health.

It has been 69 days since the last case of Covid-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source, said a ministry's statement.

The first case was a woman in her 20s who arrived from India on July 3, and has been staying in isolation center in Auckland.

The second case was a man in his 30s who arrived from Italy on July 4 and is staying in isolation at a hotel in Christchurch.

The third case was a man in his 20s who arrived in New Zealand on July 3 from India. He has been staying in isolation facility in Auckland, the statement said.

These cases bring the country's total number of confirmed cases to 1,190, which is the number reported to the World Health Organization, it said.

Two people have recovered from Covid-19, which brings the total number of active cases to 24, the statement said, adding there is no one in the country receiving hospital-level care for Covid-19.

The death toll stood at 22.
