More than 400,000 people have now died from coronavirus around the world,

The grim milestone was reached in the early hours of Sunday morning in eastern time, reports the CNN.

According to Johns Hopkins University's tally, the death toll stands at 400,121 as of Sunday afternoon.

The United States has suffered more than 109,000 of those deaths, with the United Kingdom, Brazil and Italy behind it in terms of total fatalities.
