US Embassy Dhaka on Wednesday announced that it will remain closed for routine US citizen services for the duration of the lockdown and will reopen service appointments after the lockdown is lifted.

The embassy made the announcement via a press release issued in this regard.

At the same time all US citizen appointments already scheduled for the week will be rescheduled to a later date.

In the event of an immediate need for service or an emergency, the embassy asked US citizens to contact the embassy via email at DhakaACS@state.gov to request an emergency appointment.

The US Embassy urged all US citizens to practice sound personal security measures which include following laws enforced by the government of Bangladesh and local government ordinances and to always carry a fully charged work or personal cell phone, the release added.
