Local administration locked down the house of the deceased

Awami League President of Amtali upazila in Barguna and freedom fighter GM Delowar died on Thursday showing coronavirus symptoms.

Delowar, 72, has had a fever for the past few days.

When the upazila administration was informed of his symptoms after his death, it locked down Delowar's house in Locha village of Amtali Sadar union.

Civil Surgeon of Barguna Dr Humayun Shahin Khan said, "GM Delowar had seen a doctor in Patuakhali Hospital. His sample was collected there and sent to the IEDCR for coronavirus testing. Barguna Health Department requested them to give the test result as soon as possible."

The Barguna district commissioner said, "Family of the deceased and his house will be locked down until the test results come. No risk can be taken now."
