Three areas in Brahmanbaria locked down as ‘Red zone'

Three areas of Kasba municipality of Brahmanbaria that were marked as 'Red zone' were locked down on Wednesday by the local upazila administration.

The upazila administration and law enforcement agencies will take a strict stance in those areas. No one will be able to enter into or go out from them.

Sources from the upazila administration said that 36 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus until Wednesday in Kasba upazila. Most of the infected people are from the municipality areas. Almost every day somebody new is being infected in that area.

The administration arranged a meeting and had taken decision to lock down the areas that has the most impacted people, they further informed.

Masud Ul Alam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)said, "Araibari, Shitolpara and Shahpara areas of the municipality have been locked down. Because these areas have a lot of infected people, the administration decided to lock down the areas fully."

"Municipality councillors have been instructed to provide food and necessary commodities to the houses inside locked down areas," UNO further added.
