The number of Covid-19 patients is on the rise in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi district, though the first case was found in Puthia upazila.

Tanore tops the list now.

Some 10 Covid-19 patients are at home isolation in Tanore while the number is nine in Puthia.

"The first patient was identified on April 12 in Puthia. So far 46 people have tested positive for the Covid-19 in Rajshahi. Two of them died and 11 recovered while 35 are undergoing treatment," said Dr Enamul Haque, civil surgeon of Rajshahi.

In Tanore, nobody has so far died from the novel coronavirus.

The number of Covid-19 cases is six in Mohanpur, five in Bagha upazila, three in each Durgapur and Baghmara, and two in Poba, he added.

According civil surgeon office data, Godagari and Charghat upazilas are free of the new coronavirus infection.

To curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, 118 were sent into home quarantine in Charghat and 60 in Godagari. However, no one is in quarantine in Charghat now, but two are still in home quarantine in Godagari.

The number of Covid-19 infected patients in Rajshahi City Corporation is eight.
