State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has distributed various seasonal vegetables along with government relief in his constituency in Bagha and Charghat upazilas of Rajshahi.

The current coronavirus crisis reduced the ability of most low-income people to buy vegetables. As a result, local farmers are unable to sell the vegetables they produce. The minister has taken the initiative to meet the demand of the poor and helpless for vegetables along with rice. He also took the initiative to ensure the fair price of the products produced by the local farmers, a press release said.

All these vegetables were distributed among 2,000 poor families in the minister's constituency last week. The activity will continue.

Shahriar Alam, has taken initiatives to ensure the necessary relief aid to all the lower and lower middle class families in his constituency through personal assistance along with government assistance. Food items are also being distributed among the poor through local representatives and leaders.

Earlier, the minister distributed 5,000 masks in different upazilas of Rajshahi along with his constituency. Besides, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were provided to doctors from health complexes at Charghat, Bagha, Paba and Mohanpur upazilas, including Rajshahi Government Hospital.
