Dr Mirza Nazim Uddin, head of Square Hospital's ICU department, died from Covid-19 on Sunday afternoon. 

He is the 18th doctor to succumb to the deadly virus in the country. 

Dr Mirza Nazim was tested positive three weeks ago and undergoing treatment at the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU), Secretary General of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury Dulal told The Business Standard. 

Dr Mirza Nazim Uddin was a student of K-30 batch of Dhaka Medical College. He was appointed as the head of Square Hospital's ICU department. 

According to BMA, so far 18 doctors died from Covid-19 in the country. Four more died with symptoms of Covid-19.
