Southeast Bank branch locked down in Chattogram
Employees of the branch have been instructed to remain in quarantine
The authorities have locked down the Khatunganj branch of Southeast Bank in Chattogram after a security guard there had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The officers and employees of the branch have been instructed to remain in quarantine and follow its rules.
"The civil surgeon's office has asked to lock down the branch and instruct the bank staff to comply with quarantine rules," Md Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, told The Business Standard.
He added that banks are closed on Saturday, so they have informed the bank authorities regarding the matter.
The 55-year-old patient – a retired army member – is undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital in Chattogram Cantonment.
Bank Asia's Anderkilla branch in the port city was locked down last month and 15 staff members were sent into quarantine following visits by Covid-19 patients.
