“All the markets in the country which do not comply with the hygiene rules will be shut down”

Bangladesh Shop Owners Association has temporarily shut down China Town shopping mall in the capital's Paltan area due to negligence of hygiene rules.

Mohammad Helal Uddin, president of the association said the market would be reopened later if the hygiene rules are properly followed.

"All the markets in the country which do not comply with the hygiene rules will be shut down," added Helal Uddin.

He also urged the law enforcement agencies to take action in this regard.

Kazi Monirul Haque Raunak, president of China Town shopping mall, agreed with the decision and said they want to open the market by complying with the hygiene rules.

After the closure of the market, the shopkeepers of the market started preparing the equipment for the opening of the market in compliance with the hygiene rules.
