So far, 90 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in Rangpur district

Seven people including a police officer, an intern doctor and a nurse tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Rangpur on Wednesday.

Rangpur Medical College (RMC) Principal Prof Dr AKM Nurunnobi Laiju confirmed the news adding that some 94 samples had been taken at the medical college for coronavirus test on Wednesday.

Among the freshly diagnosed seven coronavirus patients were the city's Mahiganj Range Reserve Force Commandant Superintendent of Police (SP) Meherul Karim and a female intern doctor, 28, of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

The other victims are a 26-year-old nurse of Badarganj Upazila Health Complex, a 60-year-old woman who is undergoing treatment in the cardiology department of the RMCH, a 30-year-old driver from the RK Road area of the city, an 11-year-old housemaid, and a 58-year-old man from the Radhaballav area of the city.

So far, 90 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Rangpur district.
