No relative came till Sunday morning. Then the authorities of the hospital contacted them

A patient, who died of coronavirus in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Saturday night, has been abandoned by his relatives in Rajshahi.

The deceased was identified as Azad Ali, hailing from Naogaon's Patnitala. He was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Dr Saiful Ferdous said, "The relative denied receiving the body when we contacted them. Now we are contacting Quantum Foundation for his burial."

The ICU source said the relatives had stayed in the hospital while the patient was being treated there but they could not be found after his death. 

No relative came till Sunday morning. Then the authorities of the hospital contacted them.
