Part of Rasulbag area has been locked down at Narayanganj after a women died of coronavirus.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shukla Sarkar said, " The area has been locked down after the confirmation came that the woman died of coronavirus."

" The lockdown will continue untill further notice," she added.

The 50-year-old woman was taken by her relatives to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) on March 29 which then refered her to Kurmitola Hospital.Her relatives brought her back home but later she got more sick.

She died while being taken to Kurmitola on March 30. Kurmitola collected her samples and sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR).

Later the result came positive on Thursday noon.

Dr Md Imtiaz, district civil surgeon said, " As the test result came psotive from IEDCR on Thursday noon, the area was locked down by upazila administration as per suggestion of health division."
