Shahiduzzaman first MP to get coronavirus
Shahiduzzaman caught a fever on Wednesday. Later on Friday, he was tested positive with the virus
Awami League member of parliament from Naogaon-2 Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
He is the first lawmaker of the country to have tested positive with the virus.
"Shahiduzzaman caught a fever on Wednesday. Later on Friday, he was tested positive with the virus," Awami League whip in the parliament Atiur Rahman Atik said confirming the matter to The Business Standard.
Bangladesh on Friday confirmed two new deaths from the novel coronavirus and 571 new cases of infection.
With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 170 and the number of total infections stood at 8,238.
