Abdus Shahid was scheduled to attend the session on Sunday but did not attend due to illness. He has been elected MP from Moulvibazar for six times.

Former chief whip and also an incumbent lawmaker from Moulvibazar-4 constituency Abdus Shahid has been infected with the novel coronavirus. 

Abdus Shahid is now undergoing treatment in Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute & Hospital in the capital, Ahad Md Sayeed Haider, the personal secretary of the lawmaker, told The Business Standard on Tuesday confirming his Covid-19 infection.

The Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) collected samples from his (Abdus Shahid) house yesterday afternoon and today the result of the test came positive, said Ahad.

 He has a fever and cold but no breathing problems. He was admitted to Gastroliver Hospital last Sunday afternoon with coronavirus symptoms, he added.

"We are in talks with the doctors. We will transfer him to the Combined Military Hospital in the capital if doctors permit" he said.
