Dhaka South City Corporation withdrawn the lockdown in the capital's Wari since there is no instruction on extending the lockdown from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) or Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR).

A press release from Dhaka south also said that a comparatively decreasing number of positive Covid-19 cases in the area on last two weeks also played a role in withdrawing the lockdown.

The lockdown was lifted on Friday midnight.

The local counsellors made announcement on loudspeakers in the area so that people maintain social distancing and follow health guidelines.

Even without the lockdown, the coronavirus testing booths and services to receive food items via e-commerce in the area will remain operational till July 30.

Earlier on July 4, the government placed the capital's Wari area under lockdown for 21 days in an effort to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
