Though Satkhira administration has announced a seven-day lockdown to curb coronavirus infection in the bordering district, it is not being implemented properly.

Besides, people are not wearing masks and following hygiene rules.
There was no awareness among people, said Khairul Basar Babu, a businessman from Tala Sadar in Satkhira.
He further said,"If the lockdown exists only on paper, the worsening situation of Covid-19 infection cannot be controlled."
On Sunday, the second day of the seven-day lockdown, everything is seengoing normal like before.
However, the administration is saying that mobile courts and law enforcers are in the field to implement the lockdown.
According to the administration, the shops that are essential for people will remain open till 12 noon. But the reality is different, all the shops are open. The movement of easy-bikes, motorcycles and battery-run vans has increased in the town. Only bus services are closed. Clothing stores are selling products with one door closed.
Satkhira Superintendent of Police Md MostafizurRahman said mass people needed to be more aware.
"Many are coming outside home unnecessarily. The district police have taken a strict stance in this regard," he added.
Dr Jayant Kumar, Covid-19 Spokesperson of Satkhira Civil Surgeon's Office, said that 27 coronavirus patients were undergoing treatment at Satkhira Medical College Hospital.
Besides, 26 patients are in Sadar Hospital. Along with this, 70 people are undergoing treatment with Covid-19 symptoms at the medical college hospital.
A Covid-19 positive patient died at the hospital on Saturday night,Dr Jayant Kumar said.
