Minister for law, justice and parliamentary affairs Anisul Huq is not infected by coronavirus and is currently healthy.

He is at home and is currently performing his routine official duties said a press release issued by the ministry on Thursday.

The release also said that the news of him getting infected by coronavirus that was spread on social media platforms and by various news outlets is not true.

On Wednesday, the minister received a phone call from a private television channel asking about the health condition of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.

The minister replied saying that the chief justice is doing well and is not infected by coronavirus. He has been admitted to hospital for an old asthma problem and is under the doctor's observation.

The law minister's statement was vaguely presented by the channel leading to the confusion that the law minister was suffering from coronavirus.

Some news outlets also published the news – "the law minister confirmed the matter that chief justice has been admitted to Combined Military Hospital Dhaka with coronavirus symptoms "– which is also untrue.

The law minister made no such statement and these are rumors and false news the release added.
