KMCH gets PCR machine to detect coronavirus

KMCH will be able to test COVID-19 with samples of throat swabs and blood and provide results within a day through using the PCR machine

The Khulna Medical College and Hospital (KMCH) has received Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) machine this morning to detect coronavirus cases.

"Coronavirus (COVID-19) test is expected to start next week here as installation works of PCR machine begins after getting it," said Director of KMCH Dr. ATM Monjur Morshed.

A laboratory, in where PCR will be set up, is being installed at the 3rd floor of KMCH, he said.

Monjur said that the KMCH will be able to test COVID-19 with samples of throat swabs and blood and provide results within a day through using the PCR machine.
