IGP gives safety gears to Dhaka Metropolitan Police

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed has provided a large amount of health safety equipment to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for their protection against the coronavirus during performing duties.

The IGP handed over the equipment to DMP Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam at the police headquarters in Dhaka on Saturday.

The safety gears include 50,000 facemasks, 2,000 units of hand sanitiser, 2,000 pieces of eye protectors, 1,000 pieces of face shields and 15,000 pieces of re-usable personal protective equipment.

Bangladesh Police has distributed protective equipment to all of its units to enable them to stay protected against the Covid-19 while on duties.

The police units have also been provided with funds to buy additional protective equipment.
